Pluri Art Orchestra

Pluri_Art Orchestra, founded in 2007 by Yuri Medianik, is uniquely versatile: depending on the project’s nature, it can be anything from a chamber string ensemble to a large symphony orchestra; thus, almost any kind of musical program is within their reach. Members of the orchestra include international prize winners.

Pluri_Art Orchestra has collaborated with Channel One Russia (including the famous talent show, Star Factory), co-organized the 2007 Opera Ischia Festival (Italy), and is the first performer of works by German composer Fred Jonny Berg (now known as Flint Juventino Beppe). At the 2007 Opera Ischia Festival, the Orchestra performed Puccini’s La Boheme, conducted by David Mayer (US).

Pluri_Art Orchestra has performed at numerous festivals in Russia — Noble Seasons (August 2009), The Days of Moscow’s Cultural and Historical Heritage (March 2011; March 2012), Musical Assemblies at Tsaritsyno (August 2012), Classics and Jazz (June 2013), The In/Out Theatrical Demarche (September 2013)—and presented their own concert programs at the Moscow International Performing Arts Center and the Moscow Philharmonic.

Pluri_Art Orchestra collaborates with the Tenors of the 21st Century Art Project. In 2011 they released a DVD, In Tango Rhythms, featuring Maxim Paster, Alexander Zakharov and Yuri Medianik.

Pluri_Art Orchestra is among the artists who performed on the soundtrack to the Ice 2 (2020) movie.

OpensoundOrchestra is presented by young and professional musicians with the main goal to popularize contemporary music. OpensoundOrchestra records and plays music by young and well-known Russian composers in different halls such as the conservatory and the philharmonic, stadiums and small concert rooms. The orchestra’s name, “Open Sound”, stands for the openness of new music and new ways of representing it to the audience.

The orchestra was founded in 2018 by passionate musicians – conductor/violinist Stanislav Malyshev and cellist Olga Kalinova, both coming from a classical background. OpensoundOrchestra brings together exceptionally gifted musicians, each of whom is an artist in their own right. This is what defines the nature of OpensoundOrchestra: there is nothing obsolete about this highly committed group of like-minded musicians.

OpensoundOrchestra has recorded music for ballets by Sergei Polunin, film scores, and have worked with the legendary Melodiya record label. They have performed at premier Moscow venues, from the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory and Zaryadye’s Grand Hall to the DOM Cultural Center, the bastion of contemporary music.
